16th - 18th January 2004
THE WILDERNESS CENTRE
Following the great success of the Badby Youth Hostel weekend in January of this year, The Chester road Brigades are planning to run another fun/activity weekend in January 2004.
The Venue is "The Wilderness Centre" which is owned by Gloucestershire County Council.
The Centre is located closed to the village of Mitcheldean in the heart of the Forrest of Dean and is only 11 mile from the bright lights of Gloucester.
Those of you who went on the Badby weekend will recall how "cosy" it was, the Wilderness Centre could not be more different. It can accommodate up to 48 people and has a large main common room, separate dinning room, 9 bedrooms, 2 toilet/shower rooms & 1 Bathroom/toilet.
The centre also has Snooker, Pool, Table Football & Table Tennis facilities as well as its own extensive grounds with direct access to the Forest of Dean.
We are planning to put on a similar programme to the one we did at Badby, including a late night venture into the woods with Bowling and Swimming in Gloucester. In addition we are hoping to be able to put on some adventure/challenge activities which will be run by the centre's own instructors but these will be subject to availability & Cost.
For this weekend we have extended an invitation to the 70th Boys Brigade Company from George Road Baptist Church to join us, who for those of you who went to camp will know very well.
The cost of the weekend will be £30.00 per person.
Application Forms will be available from when we return to Brigades on 5th September, But If you want to get in early you can download a copy from the web site.
Ask your parent/Guardian to complete it and hand it over together with the deposit of £10 to a member of the Friday night staff to book your place.
Download your booking form here and bring it with you the first week back to reserve your place!
